The Sonic Fields Silly Face is a point to point wired silicon transistor based fuzz. We use carefully matched low gain transistors to recreate that classic fuzz tone.
The circuit is based on the classic Fuzz Face circuit, but with some changes to make it somewhat more versatile and a little less bassy.
First of all we tweaked the fuzz control to make it much more useful over the whole range, going from mild to wild fuzz.
We also added a ‘Bias’ control for the second transistor, which gives you the opportunity to go from an open sounding fuzz to a somewhat more gated fuzz. Depending on how the Bias is set you can get a nice overdrive or an even more gated sound when you roll back your guitar’s volume control.
The idea behind the faces is to create unique pedals, just like we all have our very own silly face. No pedal will be the same. Just pick the one that matches your personality!

The Sonic Fields Angry Face is a BC108 transistor based fuzz face type pedal. It’s a somewhat brighter, more agressive fuzz than our Silly Face, although it can be tamed a little by using the tone control and the guitar’s volume knob.
The point to point wired circuit is based on the classic Fuzz Face, with an added tone control and a little different approach for the fuzz control to make it much more useful over the whole range.
Specs:
- Point to point wiring
- Matched set of BC108 transisors
- Fuzz, Tone and Volume controls
- Unique design for every pedal

The Sonic Fields Silly Germaine is a cross-over between a Germanium and a Silicon based Fuzz Face.
There's an ultra-lowgain silicon transistor in Q1 for stability and a carefully tested low-leakage germanium in Q2 to get that creamy 60's fuzz character.
Germanium transistors can be very sensitive to temperature swings. There's ‘Bias’ control to adress this problem. As a bonus this control gives you a wider range of fuzz tones, from an open creamy to a gated fuzz.
The fuzz control is tweaked to make it much more useful than in the original.
Specs:
- Point to point wiring
- Matched set of carefully selected transisors
- Fuzz, Bias and Volume controls
- Unique design for every pedal

Meet the Diabolik Fuzz. Based on the Maestro Fuzz Tone, the first fuzz pedal ever, and named after a movie from the same era.
This limited run of Diabolik Fuzzies is powered by a matched set of two old stock germanium RCA 2N270 transistors in the first two stages, which are the same as in the very first version from the 60’s, and either an AC132 or an AC126 in the third stage. Every set of transistors was carefully measured, matched, biased and tested into the circuit to get maximum tone.
The Diabolik is by no means a quiet beast. It’s a loud, raunchy and highly temperamental fuzz pedal. It’s based on the Maestro FZ-1 but there are some of our own tweaks to the circuit:
- The 'FAT' knob controls the low end to make it fatter sounding when needed.
- The 'STARVE' control acts like a dying battery, which makes up for a squeeling or gating fuzz.
- Pedal runs on center negative 9V.
